Glow votive candle holders are handmade & each one original as an artist collaboration between floral designer Terry Furuta & photographic artist Meredith Ochoa.  

Original art and floral imagery has been transferred onto the glass in a unique process which produces a silvery, light, and glowing finish.  They also function as vases, and were created in the sentiment and inspiration of biophilic lifestyle which is an innate human tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life.

*Do NOT machine wash or hand wash the front surface*

*In person pick up can be arranged for those local to Atlanta or GA.  This method is preferred due to the glass and original nature of the piece.  Choose GA Pickup option at checkout*

While most flowering plants reward pollinators with tasty nectar, many orchid species turn to trickery. Some use what's called food deception. They produce flowers that look or smell like they offer food, but offer no edible reward. Other orchids use sexual deception. They produce flowers that look or smell like female insects, usually bees or wasps. Males are drawn to the sexy flowers and attempt to mate with it. In doing so, they accidentally collect pollen on their bodies, which fertilizes the next orchid they visit.
